FAQs
How does the procedure work?
You will come into our office and fill out a client health history. You will then be escorted into a private room and instructed to insert a rectal tube. You will then lie on the colon hydrotherapy table and warm purified water will flow through the approximately 5 feet of your large intestines for 30-40 minutes. You will release your waste and toxins on the “toilet table.” There is a clear viewing tube that runs alongside the table so that you will be able to view the waste as it is released. Soft music and candles are available if you like.
Does it hurt?
No, the session is relatively painless. You will be instructed on how to insert your own rectal tube which is about the size of a number 2 pencil. The tube is very tiny and only goes about an inch into the rectum.
How long is a session?
The basic session lasts approximately 40 minutes. However, we ask you to schedule 1 hour and 15 minutes for your initial visit.
What do I need to do to prepare for a session?
The more hydrated you are, the better your session will be. You may want to drink plenty of good water in preparation for your visit. On the day of your session, we encourage you to stop eating at least 2 hours before your appointment time and avoid any foods or drinks that cause you excess gas.
What about my bowel flora?
It is true that when you flush out toxic bowel waste, you will also remove some of the beneficial bowel flora (“good bacteria”). Therefore, we suggest that you discuss with your physician or nutritionist about the possibility of reestablishing good bowel flora with probiotics.
How many sessions will I need?
Since we can not prescribe, that will be totally up to you and your physician. However, it is believed that it takes about 12 sessions to completely cleanse the colon. Therefore we offer favorable discounts for someone who commits to prepaying for multiple sessions.
How often can I get them?
There is no scientific data that we are aware of concerning this. We have experienced deep cleansing when scheduling colonics within 7 to 14 days. Most people will come once per week when starting a cleanse. However, it is totally up to you and your physician.
Where will the colonic be performed?
You will go to Healing Waters located at Healing Waters 720 23rd Street S. Birmingham, Al 35233
